Standard DBS Checks Online
Standard DBS Checks (also known as Standard Disclosure Check & Barring Service Checks) are the middle level of DBS Check available and are generally required for positions that involve working in financial services, prisons, security, government buildings and healthcare establishments where incidental contact with vulnerable groups may occur. This level of check is only available for roles that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and in England and Wales can only be applied for by a company, not an individual.
There is only one type of Standard DBS check, as it does not cover the children’s or adults barring list checks (for this you will need an Enhanced DBS Check). A standard level DBS will check applicants for reprimands, warning, cautions and criminal convictions which are spent or unspent older convictions. Some may become filtered if they are deemed not to be relevant to to the position the applicant is applying for.
